Introducing the First Ever HMU Collaboration
Did you know it was Rebecca Paige and David Galleher who did the first ever Handpan Makers United collaboration instrument?
Rebecca was one of the first women to build handpans since Sabina Schärer, co-creator of the Hang. After her debut at Aura Handpan with Jon Antzoulis, Rebecca started her own company, Spirit Handpans, in 2016 in Asheville, NC.
David, aka Chef D, has truly been a pillar of the handpan community. Best known for doing catering at handpan gatherings across the globe, Chef D also started the first handpan podcast, and inevitably found his way to the hammer. David has since been making handpans under the name Makai Instruments in Hawaii.
Their collaboration resulted in this one-of-a-kind instrument in the Arcadia sound model.
Handpan Makers United was founded to ensure the open and healthy growth of the handpan art form for generations to come. I would like to thank Rebecca and David for their initiative which will proudly remain the first ever HMU collab’ handpan.
