Meet Dennis Cox

Kyle’s Introduction

My father and I were sitting on the beach in Pensacola, FL, one of our former homesteads, discussing plans about the upcoming Halo and he offered his services in any way they would be of use.

He has been a faithful helper in many ways. He shines when meeting guests and accommodating out-of-town team members making them feel at home and well taken care of. He also does a great job gluing Halos as well as keeping our facility organized and in tip-top shape. I am grateful to have my father on Team Halo!

Bio

“I am Dennis Cox, Kyle’s father.  I have an extensive background in education.  I went to college at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1972 and a master’s degree in guidance counseling in 1975.

I have worked a total of 29 years in education.  I started out as a middle school and high school counselor at the local schools in 1974.  I did this up until 1979 when I accepted a job opportunity to be the Director of Testing and Dean of Students at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri.  I was the Director and Dean from 1979 until 2003.  I then took a guidance counselor position at the Pensacola Jr College in 2005.

Education is still a big part of my life as I am a psychology instructor at Mineral Area College and a guidance counselor for the Missouri Department of Corrections.  I offered my help to Kyle in 2007 and have since then been the resident ‘Halo Gluer’.”
